Gigi has a role in a scifi movie which is set to air on SciFi on May 29th called Quantum Apocalypse.¬† Check out the trailer here.¬† She’s looking GOOD, I think.
(er…what’s with the “quantum” suddenly being used everywhere?¬† Seems like if you slap the word “quantum” into something you’ll automatically get a cool, sexy title?¬† Hmm…..let’s see if that works.¬† Quantum Driver.¬† Star Wars: Quantum Menace.¬† Quantum Millionaire.¬† Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Quantums.¬† Okay, I guess you CAN take this game too far.)
As always, doublecheck the listings as we get closer to the date.No comments
YES! Claudia Black will be making a rare appearance at a scifi convention! She has been announced as a guest at DragonCon which is held every year during the Labor Day weekend in downtown Atlanta. This year the dates are September 4 through 7, 2009.No comments
Although you can still find a copy of Farscape’s pilot script for sale on eBay, you can also download a PDF of "Premiere" at TV Writing Pilot School.
There’s an amazing list of pilot scripts there, including the pilot scripts for three of the Star Trek series, the Battlestar Galactica miniseries, Caprica (has that even aired yet??), Alien Nation, Heroes, Jericho, Lost, Quantum Leap, and Sliders, — to name but a few of the scifi ones.
What’s even more interesting is that there are pilot scripts available for shows that never made it to pilot stage. When people say that most television shows fail, this is an illustration of what that means. Each of these pilot scripts that the networks passed on were originally pitched to the networks, who then decided to pass on it after reading the proposed script.
I’m awfully glad that didn’t happen to Farscape. No comments
Chat for folks from the former Sci Fi FARSCAPE chat
(and other interested parties)
- irc.sorcery.net as server, use 7000 as port
- #farscape as the “room” (or channel)
- Monday, May 4, through Friday, May 8
Those of us who were fans from the early days of Farscape remember irc.scifi.com #Farscape, the chat room that SciFi used to have on their website.¬† I spent many hours hanging around in there chatting with fellow ‘Scapers from around the world.¬† (Yes, really.¬† Around the world.¬† The room always had people in it, no matter what hour.) My very first Farscape friends were made in that chatroom, nearly eight years ago.
SciFi has gotten rid of their chat server (irc is so 90′s), slicked up its website and forums, and introduced flashy videos to their website, but none of that builds as much community between fans as their old chat rooms did.
As an exercise in nostalgia and the old “where are they now” spirit, a one week only chat even will be set up.
I will be traveling that week on business, but I’ll be checking in during the evenings under my “nom de irc” of grapeshot.¬† See you all there! No comments
